The Old Time String Band are a two piece, Yorkshire based, acoustic band that evoke the sights and sounds of a bygone era. Swapping between a range of stringed instruments, they play a mixture of songs with an emphasis on popular Blues, Jazz and Country standards from the 1920s, 30s, and 40s.
Daisy and Martyn met playing together in The Lovesick Cowboys – a vibrant country and swing band in Leeds. While playing for this band, they began The Old Time String Band which has enjoyed success in recent years playing at festivals, restaurants, bars, burlesque nights, weddings, care homes, tea dances, vintage fashion fairs, conferences, functions and busking all over the UK and Europe.
Looking to continue their success at Haworth Arts Festival, The Norwich Wine tasting Festival and The East Lancashire Railway 1940s weekend to play more often and further afield, bookings are currently being taken for 2014 and beyond.
